As Lakmé Fashion Week marked 25 glorious years of its presence, the showcase witnessed a breathtaking moment as Falguni Shane Peacock unveiled their latest collection ‘Ashen Roses’—an ode to power, fluidity and individuality. Known for their signature mix of intricate embellishments, bold silhouettes and couture-like detailing, the designer duo once again pushed boundaries, proving that glamour is not just a statement but a way of life.
At the heart of this collection lies a deep-rooted connection to Falguni Shane Peacock’s brand DNA—familiar elements reimagined with a fresh perspective. “This collection is a reimagining of our brand’s DNA—familiar, yet entirely new,” the designers shared. They’ve taken their signature elements—exaggerated silhouettes, intricate embroidery and high-octane glamour—and given them a renewed edge. The focus was on evolution along with reinvention, ensuring that every piece remained true to the FSP aesthetic while feeling modern and unexpected.
Glamour has been synonymous with Falguni Shane Peacock for the last 21 years, and this season, they turned it up a notch. The collection featured exaggerated proportions, unexpected textures and statement-making details, ensuring that every look commanded attention. From sculptural embellishments to power tailoring with an edge, the collection blended extravagance with effortless elegance—ensuring that the wearer doesn’t just follow trends but sets them.
The FSP showcase had a star-struck moment as the showstoppers’ looks reflected the collection’s core ethos—power dressing with a couture edge. Director Karan Johar walked in a striking black ensemble featuring tailored black pants, a sequinned tie-up shirt, and a blazer adorned with intricate organza appliqué ashen roses and delicate fringes. The look effortlessly balanced structure and fluidity, echoing the essence of the collection. Actor Tamannaah Bhatia embodied fierce femininity in tailored black pants, a cropped black blazer, and a hand-sculpted metallic bustier. Encrusted with diamonds, Swarovski stones, and intricate floral carvings, the bustier was a statement in itself—merging strength and sensuality in a way only FSP can ensure.
While every piece in the collection was designed to make an impact, one element stood out—trousers. Falguni Shane Peacock redefined the role of trousers in womenswear, making them a powerful statement piece that can be styled in multiple ways. “These trousers challenge conventional styling. They’re versatile yet powerful, proving that pants can be just as transformative as any couture gown,” the designers noted.
For FSP, fashion isn’t about rules—it’s about pushing the boundaries of self-expression. “Forget the ‘dos’ and ‘don’ts’ you’ve been told—fashion is about making your own rules,” they emphasised. The collection encouraged the wearers to layer, clash, or style each piece solo, allowing for personal interpretation and an uncompromising sense of individuality.
With FSP being a global red carpet favourite, the collection didn’t look to trends for inspiration—it created them. “We don’t follow trends—we create experiences,” they stated. By focusing on intricate craftsmanship, sculptural silhouettes, and bold styling, Falguni Shane Peacock once again delivered a collection that overlooked fleeting trends and instead cemented their place as pioneers of contemporary couture.
Every FSP collection is designed for those who are fearless, strong, and positive—embodying the same bold energy as their panther logo. “She doesn’t follow trends—she defines them on her own terms,” the designers remarked about the FSP muse. This year’s collection was an ode to that spirit—a wardrobe that is powerful, versatile, and endlessly reimaginable.
As Lakmé Fashion Week celebrated 25 years of innovation in Indian fashion, Falguni Shane Peacock reminded us why they remain at the forefront of that evolution. With a collection that challenged conventions, redefined glamour and empowered wearers to embrace their own unique style, FSP once again proved why they are unmatched in the realm of bold, avant-garde fashion.
For those who believe in making a grand entrance, this collection was more than about clothing—it was about owning the moment. And in true FSP fashion, it was nothing short of spectacular!
