PATTERNED LUCIDITY
Shot on the streets of Washington for its global chapter, the Fall/Winter 2021 collection of Falguni Shane Peacock encapsulates a strong sense of place while keeping the pattern play artfully mismatched. The hyper-real, ditzy floral motifs appearing in a range of color to monochromatic in gingham, harlequin pattern, houndstooth, leopard, and tartan induce a fashion trance. The silhouettes have been defined to keep the clothes simple, feminine, and flattering, while the swirling plissé dresses are cinched at the waist contrasted with sleek, practical city jackets. The all-over printed puffer jackets with pants give an intentionally divergent, yet playful vibe.
