DIVYAK D’SOUZA – TALK’S ABOUT TRAVEL STYLE

1) FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO LOOK FASHIONABLE, YET TRAVEL LIGHT, WHAT ARE SOME FASHION STAPLES THAT YOU RECOMMEND?
“UIt all boils down to investing in the right wardrobe basics/classics. The simple khaki unlined, navy blazer, a crisp white shirt and a fitted pair of dark jeans. These are the kind of staples that I personally invest in. They work in most weathers. Also, one great outerwear option like a spring trench. If it is chilly, it keeps you comfortable. When you go to a cold country, packing light is something I am not capable of!”

2) WHAT ARE THE BASIC GUIDELINES TO FOLLOW WHILE CHOOSING SWIMWEAR FOR DIFFERENT BODY TYPES?
“I think everybody should wear whatever makes them feel good. When you feel good, you look great. Show off the gifts you have. Try to accentuate the beautiful parts of your body. Whatever you perceive as flaws, maybe try to minimize them. I have noticed the return on the 1950s pin up looks- High waist bikini briefs with a halter bandeau. Stuff like that works for almost all body types.”

3) WHAT ARE SOME OF THE BEST ACCESSORIES TO STYLE SWIMWEAR WITH?
“Keep it light, easy and real!”

4) WHICH CELEBRITY HAS THE BEST VACATION STYLE AND WHY?
“I really like how Blake Lively dresses. She’s got a very classic, American preppy and a very authentic style. ”

5) WHAT ARE SOME TRAVEL ESSENTIALS FOR WOMEN IN 2019?
“It is all about skincare and beauty for me. It is very important to have the right products when you are travelling. If you are going to the tropics- you need the right sunscreen. If you are going to a cold place- you need your oils and moisturisers. Skincare has become a bigger priority! ”

6) A MYTH ABOUT BEING A STYLIST YOU WANT TO BREAK?
“Everybody assumes that it is this glamorous job where you get to wear good clothes and go to great parties! There must be stylists who have that lifestyle but I am the exact opposite. It is a lot of physical labour, logistics and administrative work. You need some kind of managerial skills. Type A personalities could do really well as stylists. You don’t just have to be creative. It is important to have the admin skills.”
